One person was killed and another injured when a tipper skidded off the road and fell in a gorge at Khari area of Ramban district Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred when the tipper loaded withconstruction material was on way to Khari from Nachalana. When the vehiclebearing registration number JK19- 6046 reached near Harnihal, few kilometersshort of Khari, it plunged into several hundred feet deep gorge.
The conductor of the vehicle died on the spot whereas thedriver was rescued by the locals and the police party from Khari Police Post.
Both the dead and the injured were shifted to Sub DistrictHospital Banihal by the police.
Police identified the deceased as Tanvir Ahmed Pachoo son ofGulam Qadir Pachoo of Seran Khari. He was declared as brought dead at thehospital.
The driver identified as Mohammad Amin has sustainedinjuries. He was referred to SKIMS Srinagar for further treatment.
Police have registered a case in this regard at Police PostKhari.
