One person was killed while 10 others were injured in two separate road accidents in district Doda on Thursday.
According to sources, a driver was killed and two others were injured when the vehicle they were on board skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Dudwal near Gwari area of Gandoh sub division in Doda on Thursday afternoon. According to police, an Alto K-10 (without registration number) was on its way from Gwari to Kaljugasar. “When it reached Dudwal, the driver lost control on the it and the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.”
Police and locals rushed to the spot and moved the injured to nearby hospital.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Majeed Batt son of Rashid Batt of Bhatyas. The injured were identified as Forester Reyaz Ahmed Mir of Budhli and Forester Din Mohammad Khan of Sanwara Bhallesa.
Meanwhile, an Echo vehicle bearing registration number JK06-6043 met with an accident near village Bharat, 15 KM from Doda town in which 4 children among eight were injured.
Immediately after the incident, locals and police team rushed to the spot and moved the injured to the district hospital Doda. The injured have been identified as Ameena (8) D/O Manzoor Ahmed Parrey, her brother Anzar (12) Residents of Beoli Doda, Bashir Ahmed Wani (45) S/O Ghulam Mohd Wani R/O Shodhan, Mantazar (3) S/O Alyas Hussain r/o Pundhar Doda, Shafiya Bano (18)D/O Ghulam Hasan Rather R/O Pundhar, Arsal (10) S/O Manzoor Ahmed Parrey R/O Bhelli, Burhan (18) S/O Mohd Amin Bhat R/O Bhudbhaghi and Riyaz Ahmed(21) S/O Liaqat Ali R/O Bhagwah.
