179 polling parties dispatched from Bhaderwah, Doda

In order to ensure smooth conduct of phase-II of Lok Sabha elections in district Doda and in view of inclement weather conditions, polling parties for Bhaderwah and Doda assembly segment of Udhampur-Doda parliamentary constituency were dispatched on Tuesday from their respective centres.

Doda and Bhaderwah segment is part of Udhampur-Dodaparliamentary constituency and is going to polls in 2nd phase on Thursday.

   

Nodal officer for deployment, Bhaderwah segment, PhulailSingh said that out of the total 183 polling parties, 106 of far-off areas weredispatched from Government Higher Secondary School Boys Bhaderwah in advance,while 77 polling parties will be dispatched on Wednesday.

According to details, for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, DrJitendra Singh of BJP and Vikramaditya Singh of Congress among 12 candidatesare in fray.

The polling parties along with EVMs and VVPATs left for therespective polling stations Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier in the morning, the polling parties reported at dispatchcentre Bhaderwah and Doda, where electronic voting machines along with votersverifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) and other election material were madeavailable to them.

Later, accompanied by security personnel, the presidingofficers and other team members left for their respective polling stations toundertake the voting process.

It is notable to mention here that in view of the inclementweather conditions, 179 polling parties have been deployed across Dodadistrict.

Talking to media persons, district election officer, Doda,Dr Sagar D Doifode, said that for the smooth conduct of Lok Sabha elections,adequate security arrangements have been made in advance. All the pollingparties and security personnel will reach their respective polling stations byevening.
