The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday claimed to have arrested two men and rescued twenty bovine animals from their possession near Chenani-Nashri tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

A police officer said, “Two trucks, JK02AC 8717 and JK02CA 5032, were signaled to stop at a checkpoint laid by a team from Batote police station, led by station house officer, Nazir Ahmed, near the Chenani-Nashri tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. During checking, twenty bovine animals were found loaded in the trucks.”

The police identified the arrested men as Jagdish Raj, a resident of Dinanagar, Gurdaspur in Punjab, and Ravi Kumar, a resident of Udhampur.
