23-year-old killed in road accident in J&K’s Doda

A 23-year-old youth was killed when the car he was driving skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Chilli area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning, police said.

The accident occurred near Chilli Pain on Malik Pura- Chilli road under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandoh, 65 km from Doda town, when the victim’s car skidded off the hilly road and fell into an 800 ft deep gorge in Chilli Nullah, an official said.

   

Soon after the mishap, police along with locals reached the spot and started a rescue operation. However, Sajjad Hussain, son of Mohammad Hussain Wani, a resident of Sanwara village, who was driving the vehicle, died on the spot, SP Bhadarwah, Raj Singh Gouria told Greater Kashmir. 

He said the body of the victim has been shifted to SDH Gandoh and a case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered in this regard.
