The Jammu and Kashmir police Friday claimed to have arrested four suspected drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession, here in Reasi district.
A police officer said, “During patrolling at Main Bazar,Reasi, a team led by Dr Wasim Hamdani, deputy superintendent of police,headquarters, and station house officer, Reasi, Ashwani Sharma, apprehended ashopkeeper. The man, identified as Arif Malik, was allegedly was sellingillicit liquor to Hem Raj, Mohammad Rafiq and Manga Ram.”
The four were arrested from the spot, the officer said,adding that from their possession, 12 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered.
An FIR has been registered and police are investigating thecase further, he said.
