4 of family injured in Ramban road accident

Four members of a family were injured when the car they were travelling in rolled down into a gorge near Banihal on Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday.

A police official said the driver of an Alto car, (Registration No JK22B-2499), which was on way to Srinagar from Jammu, lost control of the vehicle near Shabanbass and the car roll downed into the gorge, resulting in injuring to the family members.

The injured were shifted to sub district hospital Banihal where doctors referred them to Bone and Joints Hospital Barzullah Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Police identified the injured as Ali Mohammad (67), his wife Zubada Begum (40), their daughter Nargis Jan (22) and son Sohil Ahmed (22) – all residents of Shopian district.

In a separate accident, which took place on Rajgarh Chanderkote link road, an Alto K10 (Registration No JK19/6463), which was on way from Natna to Ramban, rolled down into a ravine.

The car suffered extensive damage however driver of the car miraculously escaped unhurt, another police official said.
