After 8 years of marriage, slain soldier’s wife delivers baby girl hours before his cremation

The wife of slain solider Ranjeet Singh, who was killed in an encounter with militants a couple of days back at Sunderbani, gave birth to a baby girl after 8 years of marriage just few hours before the cremation of her husband at Ramban today.

As per reports, Shimu Devi wife of Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh who, along with two other jawans of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JKLI), was killed in an encounter with militants, delivered her first baby at District Hospital (DH) Ramban in the wee hours.

   

Reports said that wife of slain soldier developed labor pain, a little time after her husband’s body was brought at her residence in Suligam village, 15 kilometers away from district headquarters.

Accordingly, she was brought to hospital where she delivered a baby girl, eight years after her marriage with the slain jawan.

Gynecologist, Dr Dinesh Kumar told Greater Kashmir that both new born baby and mother are healthy.

Meanwhile, last rites of Lance Naike Ranjeet Singh were performed with full military honors at Seri cremation ground this afternoon.

Officers from army, police and civil administration among hundreds of people took part in his last and paid tributes to the slain army jawan.

Wife of slain solider and her baby were also brought to Seri cremation ground in an ambulance for last glimpse of the Army jawan.
