The Chaitra Navratra festivals which begun on Wednesday was observed without usual celebrations in this town owing to restrictions on mass gatherings in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
The township, which is home to historic temples including Vasuki Nag temple, Gupt-Ganga temple, Durga Mata temple, Chandi Mata temple, Sheetla temple and Kali Mata temple would remain abuzz, especially during Navratra as thousands of devotees would throng these temples during festivals.
This year the devotees did not visit temples. Instead the devotees preferred to perform worship and celebrations indoors.
Yoginder Razdan, President Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SSDS) Bhadarwah appealed to devotees to not visit the temples and instead offer prayers at their respective places.
“We have closed down all temples in Bhadarwah. It is necessary to take such measures to contain the spread of the virus,” said Rzadan.
