Bhadarwah votes amid cold, tight security

Amid tight security arrangements and severe cold wave conditions, the enthusiastic voters of started reaching their respective polling booths to cast their votes in 3rd phase of DDC elections in two constituencies- Bhadarwah-East and Bhadarwah-West in Jammu and Kashmir’s  Doda district on Friday.

90 polling stations were established for DDC elections for both seats across additional district Bhadarwah and one seat of ULB. Government is making Panchayat Raj more stronger by conducting first ever DDC elections in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in a lot of enthusiasm among the voters especially youth. Despite harsh winters voters started converging at the Booths to cast their vote from 7 AM.

   

“According to reports received, In all the 90 polling booths of both east and west constituencies of Bhadarwah the polling started at 7am and despite severe cold wave wave conditions voters were queuing up at the polling stations which clearly indicates the enthusiasm of the people for DDC elections,” said Rakesh Kumar ADC Bhadarwah.

“I reached my polling booth at 7am to cast my vote and I voted for development of my area. I’m feeling elated that despite the severe cold I became the first Voter to cast my vote at Nagar polling station,” said Asma Choudhary, a young female Voter from Haveli Bhadarwah. As the last reports came in 11 percent votes were polled till 8.30am and poling was going smoothly in all the 90 polling stations across Bhadarwah valley.
