BJP leader 'enters' polling station

The residents of Binoon village Thursday demanded the registration of an FIR against a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, who allegedly entered inside a polling station in the village during polling hours.

The residents alleged, “Tariq Keen barged inside the polling station number 124 set up at Binoon village and pressurized voters to vote the BJP candidate.”

Shafqat Shaheen Sheikh, a residen, while talking to Greater Kashmir, said, “After the BJP leader barged inside the polling station and started pressurizing the voters, we raised our objection. We also gathered outside and staged a protest against the interference.”

Another resident, wishing anonymity, asked, “How are the lections free and fair if the leader of a particular party is allowed to enter inside a polling station and pressurize voters?”

The residents also demanded that an FIR should be registered against the leader, besides urging the election commission to order an in-depth probe.
