A meeting of civil society was held here at Ramsu on Monday wherein the prominent citizens of the Ramban town discussed the measures to control the recurring road accidents in the district.
In the meeting, people drawn from different walks of life opined that the accidents are happening because of authorities’ failure in checking the driving by untrained people, violation of road safety norms, driving without documents and other reasons.
The civil society members also blamed MVD and traffic police for not checking the violations on a routine basis.
Further, the meeting claimed that the roads in the district are also in shambles.
The meeting appealed the authorities to put in place all the preventive measures to avoid the recurring accidents.
