A meeting of civil society was held here at Ramsu on Mondaywherein the prominent citizens of the Ramban town discussed the measures tocontrol the recurring road accidents in the district.
In the meeting, people drawn from different walks of lifeopined that the accidents are happening because of authorities’ failure inchecking the driving by untrained people, violation of road safety norms,driving without documents and other reasons.
The civil society members also blamed MVD and traffic policefor not checking the violations on a routine basis.
Further, the meeting claimed that the roads in the districtare also in shambles.
The meeting appealed the authorities to put in place all thepreventive measures to avoid the recurring accidents.
