Civil society takes out protest rally in Ramban

The members of civil society took out a protest rally in Ramban town on Saturday, demanding early establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in the district.

The protesters said, “The JNV for the district was sanctioned by the previous government and even land was identified for the building at Sansar. Around forty students were selected for the academic session, starting in 2018, but the authorities failed to start the classes.”

“Even after the completion of the selection process in 2018, the authorities are yet to notify when the classes will start,” Pawan Kumar, a member of the civil society, said.

He added that earlier this month, a delegation from the civil society met the district development commissioner, Ramban, who had assured that the issue will be resolved at an earliest.

The protesters appealed to the Governor and his administration to intervene and mitigate their grievance.
