DDC tours Kishtwar town, directs removal of encroachments

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara, Sunday conducted an extensive tour of main town here and took stock of the developmental works.  He also reviewed status of public infrastructure in the town.

The DDC was accompanied by AdditionalDistrict Development Commissioner, Muhammad Hanief Malik; AssistantCommissioner Revenue, Amir Hussain; Executive Officer, Municipality, TariqAhmad Balwan; Tehsildar, Pramod Kumar; Food Safety Officer, Rajni Kumari; XENs,AEEs of PWD, R&B, PDD, PHE and other officials.

   

He inspected drainage system in the town,sanitary facilities being installed at various places in the market, use ofdesignated parking places along the roadsides and black topping of the roads.

He directed the authorities to expedite allthe developmental works in the town and issued directions for decongestingroads by removing encroachments within a week.

He directed the Executive Engineer, R&Bfor laying cementing slab over the drains alongside the roads to prevent anymishap.

The DDC asked the municipal officials toclear the roads of town off the garbage and install bins wherever required.

The DDC also stressed upon organizingcleanliness drives to make town clean and hygienic for its inhabitants. He alsodirected orderly arrangement of electric wires in the town to prevent anymishap.

The Food & Safety Officer was alsoinstructed to conduct regular market inspections and taking samples of fooditems to ensure safety of people.

Later, the DDC visited the new bus standand underscored the need for its beautification and expansion. He said it wasthe first contact point with this town for outsiders and hence needs properupkeep.
