DGP reviews security in Kishtwar ahead of LS polls

The Director General of Police (J&K), Dilbag Singh on Tuesday visited Kishtwar where he held review meetings to take stock of the preparedness for the Parliamentary elections with officers. He also addressed Police, Army and CAPF officers deployed in connection with the polls.

He was accompanied by IGP Jammu, MK Sinha, IGP CRPF Jammu,Abhay Vir Chouhan, and IGP BSF Jammu N S Jamwal.

   

During his visit to the far-flung areas of the districtincluding Marwah, Dachan and later Kishtwar, he met local police, paramilitaryand civil officers.

Addressing the officers at District Police Office ComplexKishtwar, the DGP impressed upon the officers to dispose of the cases on fasttrack basis and keep crime index check and also enhance public relations. Hesaid that the sacrifices of the police personnel helped eradicate militancy inKishtwar and the remaining militancy too shall be wiped out from the district.

The DGP ordered the establishment of new SOG camps, Nakasand bunkers in Kishtwar and advised all the security forces deployed in thedistrict to work in coordination to eradicate militancy. He asked the policepersonnel to tighten noose around the militants and their over-ground workers.

DGP paid tributes to the police martyrs adding that J&KPolice has earned a good name at the national level due to their sacrifices forthe nation.

DGP advised the officers to reach out to each and everysection of society in order to gain their confidence.

During his interaction with the officers of civiladministration, police and CAPF, the DGP directed the officers to act toughagainst white collar criminals by identifying and booking them under relevantlaws.

Referring to welfare measures, he said that PHQ is lookinginto various demands and more announcements are expected from State Governmentfor the benefit of police personnel. He advised the police personnel to takecare of health, hygiene and their families.
