Expressing resentment over the bad condition of the road stretch between Tund and Hidyal villages of Kishtwar, the residents today urged the district administration to step in for ending their woes.

Expressing resentment over the bad condition of the road stretch between Tund and Hidyal villages of Kishtwar, the residents today urged the district administration to step in for ending their woes.

"Despite being adjacent town area and district commissioners head office, the area has been facing neglected by the district administration and R&B department", the locals told Greater Kashmir.

A delegation of locals said they are suffering immensely for want of a proper road link with daily commuters and vehicle owners bearing the brunt the most.

"Improper drainage is adding to our miseries and one can hardly walk on the road. We urged the authorities to take immediate congnizance of the bad condition of the road", said Amir Raza, a local.

"Our area becomes inaccessible as soon as rain showers come down. The DDC should personally visit the area and inspect the condition of the road", he demanded.

People lamented that the children and senior citizens are the worst sufferers of the bad road condition. "They face great hardships while walking on the road as the potholes and muck make it tough for pedestrians", they said.

The locals said that despite repeated notices to concerned department, they have failed to repair the road.

They urged the authorities to immediately repair the road and ensure proper drainage in put in place. "If no action is taken we will be forced to take to roads and protest", they threatened.
