Don’t allow mobile phones in schools, ensure discipline: SSP to parents

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary today asked the parents not to allow their wards to carry mobile phones to schools and maintained that discipline is must for a student to achieve success in life.

The SSP was speaking during a Parent- Teachers meet in Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kishtwar.

Abrar Chowdhary informed the audience that parents are the first school and are the main stakeholders in the education and development of their children.

The children spent maximum time at their homes and learn a lot, good or bad, from their parents, he said adding that it is the parents in the first place who have to inculcate the good habits and discipline in their children.

The role of school and teachers comes later, said the SSP. He said that it is ironical and surprising that even low income patents provide costly smart phones to their children for taking to schools and using at their places of stay.

The students forget the studies and waste their precious time by fiddling with these phones which is useless.

He said that beside mobile phones, the students are provided bikes by their parents which they use for stunts and all other nonsense stuff.

He advised the parents not to encourage this.

The SSP called upon the parents to follow and supervise each and every activity of their children.

He advised the teaching fraternity to maintain the attendance of students in each period.

Perlhad Bhagat, Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary Kishtwar, Dr. Sanjay Sen, Chief Animal Husbandary Officer Kishtwar, Vice Principal and Lecturers and staff members were present on the occasion.
