An elderly couple was injured after their Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) fell into a gorge in Bhadarwah area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
The injured couple was identified as Mohan Lal Sharma, 70, and his wife Shakuntla Devi, 66.
Reports said the husband-wife duo was heading towards their native village of Chinchora from Doda when their SUV skidded due to icy road near Naroo area and fell 60 feet downhill on the banks of river Neeru.
Assistant superintendent of police Bhadarwah Rajinder Singh said locals immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured couple to sub district hospital Bhadarwah, where from after first aid the duo were airlifted to government medical college Jammu for specialized treatment.
