Police on Saturday registered a case against a Sarpanch for allegedly manhandling a Revenue official in Kishtwar district.
A police official said that a case has been registeredagainst the Sarpanch of Keshwan panchayat for manhandling the Patwari.
In his complaint, the Patwari has alleged that he went tohis Halqa on direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana, fordistribution of Permanent Residence Certificates (PRCs).
“The Sarpanch, accompanied by his followers, startedshouting at applicant and used force to prevent from discharging his duties,”the Patwari said in his complaint.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Kishtwar Police Station AjazWani said that an FIR (No. 122/2019) under section 323, 353, 482 of Ranbir PenalCode (RPC) has been registered against the accused person.
