Fire breaks out in Bhaderwah court complex, heritage building, shrine damaged

A massive fire broke out in the district court complex Bhadarwah on Thursday evening, eyewitness said.

The eyewitness said that that the fire broke out today evening at 7.30 pm as it came from the main building from the principal district and session Judge and sub judge’s chamber destroying the entire heritage building made of cedar wood and a shrine of Sufi saint Sain Mooch Maroor, which is located in the complex. However no loss of life or any casualty was reported. The courts were closed today for winter vacations but the heritage building and a shrine got completely damaged in the devastating fire, they said.

The Fire brigade quickly came to the rescue trying to bring the massive fire under control, but as the structure was very old and made of dry cedar wood, it could not be controlled immediately.

As the last reports came in the fire was still spreading. To control the fire, administration also called additional fire tenders from Doda. The cause of fire is not known yet.
