Head of religious body booked for offensive post

President Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SSDS) Bhadarwah was booked on Friday by the police for allegedly hurting the sentiments of a particular community by a series of his purportedly objectionable posts on novel coronavirus outbreak on social media.

Sources said the accused is a government school teacher andwas booked under various sections.

   

SP Bhadarwah, Raj Singh Gouria, said, “Taking cognizance ofthe series of objectionable posts uploaded by SSDS President Virender Razdanrelated to covid19 outbreak on his Facebook account, the accused was summonedto Police Station, where besides questioning him about the offensive posts, hisphone was also seized, which will be sent to Forensic lab Chandigarh forverification.”

“This is a very serious offence allegedly committed bythe head of a religious organisation, who also happens to be a school teacher.The ADC has written to the Chief Education officer Doda recommending him forthe suspension of the accused and departmental inquiry,” officer added.

Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer Doda has placed theaccused under suspension on the recommendation of ADC Bhadarwah.
