Jammu and Kashmir: Four dead, seven injured in Doda road accident

Four people died and seven others were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in rolled into a deep gorge on Gangal-Bhalessa road in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. 

Sources said a passenger cab, bearing registration number JK06- 4986, met with an accident at Kalajugasar, approximately 10 km away from Gandoh.

   

“As per initial reports, four persons died and seven others were injured in the mishap,” said DySP Traffic Zohaib Patogroo.

A police officer identified the deceased as Usha Devi (30) wife of Sukh Dev of Saroo Khal Jugassar, Mubarak Hussain (16) son of Shah Din of Alni village, Sapna Devi (22) wife of Chaman Lal of Sairu Khal Jugassar and  Povitra Devi (30) daughter of Amar Chand of Jugassar, news agency GNS reported.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma said a rescue operation was immediately launched and injured were evacuated to nearby SDH Gandoh.

The injured were referred to district hospital Doda for specialized treatment, he said.
