JU’s Bhaderwah campus holds guest lectures

Department of computer science and information technology, Bhaderwah campus, University of Jammu, organized a series of guest lectures, wherein experts from Central University of Jammu and Kathua campus were invited.

The visiting faculty presented lectures on various recenttrends and technologies, machine learning, data science, theory of computationand data structures to the students of MCA 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters.

   

Dr Yashwant Singh, associate professor and head, and seniorassistant professor, Dr Arvind Selwal, from Central University of Jammu, whileAmit Sharma, assistant professor from Kathua campus were among the guestlecturers.

During three-day visit to Bhaderwah campus, the visitingfaculty conducted multiple theory and lab sessions. Latest techniquesimplemented in multinational companies with respect to data mining andwarehousing, machine learning and knowledge accusation were discussed duringthe lectures.

The students were motivated to join multinational companiesand to pursue careers in data sciences and data analytics, which are in highdemand these days.

The guest faculty also interacted with the faculty membersof MCA department, Bhaderwah campus, and invited them to the Central Universityof Jammu for more discussions and research collaborations. They also extendedtheir invitation to the students, asking them to join the students studying incentral university for joint projects.

The lecture series was coordinated by Dr Jatinder Manhas,head computer sciences, Bhaderwah campus. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Manhashighlighted the achievements of the computer science department. He thanked therector, Bhaderwah campus, for extending cooperation and support in organizingsuch events.

Prof Anil Raina, rector, Bhaderwah campus, while thankingthe visiting faculty, said, “Such events boost the morale of students and arevery important for the overall personality development.”
