Several areas of Kishtwar like Link Road, Marwah Colony, Indira Nagar, Hidyal, Akhyarabad, Gudhali, Gurian and others have been facing acute shortage of drinking water for the last couple of weeks.
The residents of these areas alleged that the PHE Department has failed to repair damaged water supply lines which is the main reason for water crisis.
The residents of New Link Road said that they have approached the concerned authorities several times but no step has been taken to resolve the water crisis.
Residents of New Marwah Colony and Gurian said, “We fetch water from other areas. Despite our repeated requests, the PHE Department has failed to restore water supply to our area”.
The people appealed to the concerned authorities resolve water crisis before Eid.
Various other localities Malipeth, Shakti Nagar, Poochal, Matta, Hatta, Sanghrambhata and Zargar Mohollaha are also facing water crisis.
