The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has urged the authorities to ensure speedy probe into the alleged usurping of students' scholarship money by a private educational institute in Kishtwar.
As per a statement, a NSUI delegation led by district president Prakash Singh Dadwal along with the victims of the 'scam' met station house officer (SHO) Kishtwar Sameer Gellani and sought speedy investigation into the matter.
"The SHO assured that the police is doing its job effectively and will solve the issue with in 2 or 3 days after proper investigation and persons found guilty will be behind the bars", the statement said.
Meanwhile, Dadwal said the NSUI will wait till 14th of March "and thereafter we will start agitation not only in Kishtwar but throughout the state."
If needed, the issue will be highlighted at national level, he threatened.
Meanwhile NSUI state President Neeraj Kundan has demanded a high level enquiry through crime branch and vigilance department for exposing the 'scam'
