Kishtwar youth demand jobs in Pakal HEP

The local youth demanded to be employed in Paka Dul Hydroelectric Project in a meeting held under the banner of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union here on Wednesday.

While speaking on the occasion, the participants demanded that priority of employment should be given to the local skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled local youth. They said that the people who are affected by the project should be given top priority in the said project.

   

During the meeting, the speakers claimed that the management of a construction company, which has been entrusted with the responsibility to execute the power house of Pakal Dul HEP, is planning to appoint manpower on transfer basis for this project. They said, “The local youth engaged in the project will be kept on a monthly roll and the manpower to be engaged on transfer basis will be kept on HO roll.”

The participants of the meeting threatened of dire consequences if the manpower is engaged on a transfer basis and demanded that the locals should be kept on HO roll, since the local youths are well experienced and had executed various Hydroelectric projects, like DHEP and BHEP. The members also demanded that the educated youths should be employed in P&A, billing, accounts and store sections.

The meeting further nominated a 13-member core group, who has been authorized to hold meetings with the management of Pakal Dul, construction company and CVPP. Rinku Sen, Anil Sharma, Ghulam Hussain Gannie, Joginder Bhandari, Javed Sheikh, Ashraf Gannie, Sardar Satpal Singh, Akhter Hussain, Muddsar Naik, Jaffar, Rajinder Shan, Ram Rattan, Tariq Patri, Sunney Sharma, Muzzafar Hussain, Ashaq Hussain, Masood Ali, Ajay Shama, Sandeep Sharma, Chander Kant, Rajinder Kumar, Salman Saleem, Arshad Gannie, Asgar Ali and Farooq Dugga attended the meeting.
