A middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide on Thursday evening by hanging himself with a tree in the fields near his residence in ward number 6 of Batote town, police said.
Police identified the deceased as Firdous Ahmed, son of Mohammad Saleem Bhatti, resident of ward number 6 Batote.
After getting information about the incident, a police team from Police Station Batote reached the spot and shifted body to Sher-e-Kashmir Memorial Hospital Batote for conducting medico legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Police Station Batote for investigations, said police.
