One person died today at Panthyal when he accidentally slipped into a deep gorge.
Police said that the deceased, Abdul Rasheed Rasheed Mir (50 years) son of Gul Mohammad Mir resident of Habbakadal, Srinagar, along with his relative, was going to Srinagar in a car bearing registration number JK01U-4325 after getting medical check-up from Delhi.
When the car reached Panthyal, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked due to landslides.
“Abdul Rasheed Rasheed Mir got down from the car to see as to what had happened, but he accidentally slipped into a deep gorge resulting into his on spot death, SHO Police Station Ramsu, Inspector Naveen Angral told Greater Kashmir.
After conducting legal medico formalities, the body was handed over to family members, SHO said.
