A man was rescued by the police and volunteers after he got trapped in strong water currents of Chenab river, here late Thursday evening.
Eyewitness said, “The person was seated on a huge boulder,when all of a sudden, the flow of water increased in the river. As a result, hegot trapped in strong water currents.”
“After hearing the man’s call for help, locals and rescueteams rushed to the spot and after hectic efforts, the teams managed to rescuethe man.”
Police identified the rescued man as Nawaz Ahmed, son ofMohammad Ibrahim and a resident of Pogal, at present Govindpora, Ramban.
