Militant hideout busted in Mahore; arms, ammunition recovered

Security forces Friday evening claimed to have busted a militant hideout and recovered a huge cache of weapons and stores in the hinterlands of Mahore in Reasi district of Jammu region.

“Today an input was received from a reliable source regarding suspicious activity in the remote dense jungle of Rusuwali in Saldhar area in Mahore in Reasi Distt. These warlike stores were in a well concealed hideout in remote uninhabited forests of Rusuwali in South of Pir Panjal ranges,” said a defence spokesperson.

   

“This joint operation between Indian army and JKP enabled by local intelligence units led to successfully unearthing a huge cache of weapons and war like stores. This successful operation has defeated yet another attempt by Pakistan based militants to destabilise the established peace process in Jammu region,” he added

Weapons and war like stores recovered included 1 AK 47 Assault Rifle, 1 RPG launcher, 16 UBGL grenades, 4 Chinese grenades and 2 Radio sets besides a RPG launcher.
