MUGHAL ROAD MISHAP|Hayat-un-Nisa's alertness helped her escape death

Hayat-un-Nisa, a 17-year-old girl hailing from Lathoong Surankote escaped death due to her alertness as she deboarded the vehicle, which met an accident on Mughal Raod on Thursday.

Eleven persons, including nine girls, died in the accident at Peer Ki Gali area on the historic Mughal road in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. Students of a private computer Institute from Surankote, Poonch were heading towards Dhobijan, Shopian for a picnic in a tempo traveller, which on the way skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Lal Ghulam area.

Father of Nisa, Maqsood Khawaja informed Greater Kashmir that his daughter was travelling in the Tempo from Surankote.

“At Chatta Pani, my daughter snubbed driver as he was driving rashly but he continued his rash driving after which my daughter deboarded the vehicle and boarded another vehicle,” Maqsood said.

My daughter escaped death only due to her alertness, he said.
