Muslims observe shutdown in Kishtwar to mourn Kashmir civilian killings

Muslims in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday observed a complete shutdown to mourn the killing of four civilians in Shopian district.

The strike call was issued by the Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed against the killings of four civilians in forces’ action in Shopian district on Sunday.

   

Majority of the business establishments and educational institutes owned by Muslims were closed while public transport remained largely off the roads.

However, the work in government offices and banks wasn’t affected by the strike call.
