Night curfew lifted, Internet services resume in Bhaderwah after 9 days

Mobile internet services were resumed Friday in Bhaderwah valley of Doda district after nine days, much to the relief of around 50,000 subscribers in the remote mountainous area.

Night curfew imposed as a precautionary measure aftercommunal clashes following the death of Naeem Ahmed Shah was also lifted fromthe town.

   

Internet services were snapped and curfew imposed on May 16after the killing of Shah of Mohalla Qilla triggered violent protests andclashes between the two communities.

Tehsildar Bhaderwah Zeeshan Tahir said the services weresuspended as mobile Internet was misused by miscreants to fan trouble in thepicturesque but communally sensitive area in the past.
