People of hilly areas complain lack of basic amenities

People living in hilly areas of Ramban and Rajgarh tehsil on Friday complained that they have been “yearning for basic amenities, even after 70 years of Independence”.

The irked people said that many villages do not have road connectivity. Besides, there is no electricity or potable water available to them. “Successive regimes have constantly ignored us. They only use us as vote banks,” they complained.

The people also said that villages, comprising of thousands of souls, still lack road connectivity even despite centrally sponsored schemes, like PMGSY being present in the state. “CHC Rajgarh Halla is running without any specialist doctor and there is acute shortage of paramedical staff. The situation is the same with the education sector as HSSS of Rajgarh and High Scool of Halla Ganote are running sans teaching staff,” they alleged.

The people urged the Governor and district administration to look into their grievances and mitigate their sufferings.
