Pesky power cuts irk Ramban residents

They alleged that department is not following its own schedule and resorts to unscheduled power cuts during evening hours when the people go for prayers in mosques and temples.

People in this hilly district in Chenab Valley are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) as the electricity has started playing hide and seek.

Residents alleged that after the festivals ended PDD is resorting to unscheduled power cuts. “The students who are going to appear in examinations are finding it hard to prepare themselves for the examination as unscheduled power cuts are making it impossible for them,” parents complained.

They  alleged that department is not following its own schedule and resorts to unscheduled power cuts during evening hours when the people go for prayers in mosques and temples.

Some consumers alleged that the department has taken consumers for granted. When anybody asks about unscheduled power cuts he is told that load has increased due to overload and it’s a “readymade excuse.”
