The residents of Ramban today expressed resentment against Power Development Department (PDD) and Public Health Engineering (PHE) for allegedly depriving them of basic services.

The residents maintained that due to apathetic approach of the concerned officials, most of the areas in the Ramban district remain deprived of potable water and hassle free power supply.

They further complained that despite repetitive requests to the concerned officials, no heed is given to their pleas, thus the area remain striving for basic needs.

Residents of Seri Ramban alleged that several villages in the district are facing acute shortage of drinking water since last fifteen days due to damage in the main pipeline.

Sarpanch of the village said that the matter was brought in to the notice of concerned Junior Engineer and other engineers of the sub division but no development has been made in this regard so far.

They alleged that officers of these departments are sending false reports to district administration regarding the restoration.

On the other hand Member Legislative assembly Banihal-Vikar Rasool Wani has also demanded restoration of link roads by clearing boulders and landslides from link roads, hassle free water and power supply in the area, besides adequate supply of Kerosine oil and other ration in the district.

In a public meeting he impressed upon the officers to gear up and restore the damaged transmission electricity and water supply on war footing so that people of the area may not suffer more on this account.
