Power supply snapped in Doda, Kishtwar

A tower of 132 KV transmission line developed a snag near Patni Top, after a cedar tree, reportedly, fell on one the towers, resulting in snapping of power supply to the entire Doda and Kishtwar districts on Tuesday. 

Reports said that the power supply got snapped in the twin districts at about 1.30 am, after a mammoth cedar tree fell on the transmission line. The power on 132 KV Dul-Hasti line tripped as a jumper on high tension tower developed a snag, after the tower got partially damaged.

   

Reports further said that power development department has assured that they are ready to provide all the logistical support to NHPC, in order to restore the power supply in the twin districts of Chenab Valley, but due heavy snowfall, the restoration work could not be started properly.

On being contacted by Greater Kashmir, district development commissioner, Doda, AnshulGarg, said, “I am in contact with PDD and NHPC authorities. The engineers are on the job and trying their best to restore the supply at an earliest, but continuous hostile weather is hindering the restoration process.”
