College students blocked Jammu Srinagar Highway for three hours at Karool Ramban in protest against the decision of Jammu university authorities to introduce semester system in under graduate exams.

Protesting students gathered on Jammu Srinagar Highway and sat on Dharna at Karool. They were demanding revocation of the recently implemented semester system, concession in revaluation and admission fees.

Due to the protest Dharna traffic movement on the highway came to a girding halt for three hours  between 11am to 2pm.

Latter DySP headquarter Imtiyaz Mir and Tehsildar Gurpreet Singh pacified the protesting students and convinced them to lift the Dharna after giving assurance  to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, Principal degree Collage Dr Yudhvir Singh told Greater Kashmir that he has not received any representation from the students in this regard.
