Scores of PHE (Jal Shakti) daily wagers temporary and need base workers staged a demonstration in favour of their demands in the premises of hydraulic division Ramban on Monday.
They raised slogans in favour of their demands and alleged that they were being exploited by the department without proper pay and that too was not being paid on time.
They were demanding release of pending wages and remuneration of daily wagers, which, according to them, had been pending for the last 70 months. They also demanded job policy promotion of employees who completed 10 years of services, regularization of the workers, who had completed 7 years of services, employment for land donors, who donated their land for construction of water reservoirs in the district.
They said that a number of committees and subcommittees were framed by the previous governments to resolve their long pending genuine demands but every time their files could be seen gathering dust in secretariat.
The demonstration was held under the leadership of Mohammad Akram Malik at PHE Hydraulic Division in which daily wagers, temporary and need based workers of Ramban and adjoining areas participated.
