The two-day-a-week ban on movement of civilian traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar highway began on Sunday and remained strictly imposed on the highway from Nashri to Jawahar Tunnel.
Public address system fitted vehicles of traffic police wereseen making announcements regarding the ban.
The people of district headquarter town Ramban complained,”It seems as the entire district has been handed over to the security forces,as they have blocked the link roads which lead to the highway.”
They added, “The order is violating our right to travel inour own area. It is making us suffer as we live on the highway town and the banaffects us the most.”
“Why doesn’t the government think about us? Are we notcitizens? Isn’t our welfare their priority?” they asked.
