Ramban votes peacefully

Polling for the fifth phase of the district development council (DDC) was conducted peacefully in Ramban district.

The District Election Officer told election for electing one DDC member from Batote block was held peacefully on Thursday. The polling remained peaceful and the voters exercised their right of franchise to elect DDC members from this newly carved block Batote in Ramban district.  There are six contesting candidates of various political parties including some independent candidates in fray. Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Harbans Lal informed Greater Kashmir that 29 polling stations were established for the 12084 voters out of which 8110 among them 3753 female voters casted their votes in Batote block today.

   

The voting ratio recorded till the end remained approximately 67.11%. The counting of votes will be held in the counting hall established for counting of votes at the District administrative complex Ramban.
