Reopen Kishtwar-Sinthan road, demands Firdous Tak

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former memberlegislative council (MLC), Firdous Tak Thursday urged the governor’sadministration to reopen Kishtwar-Sinthan road, which was closed due to heavysnowfall in December, 2018.

Pertinently, 152-kilomtere-long Kishtwar-Sinthan road is analternate link between Kishtwar in Jammu province and Anantnag in Kashmirprovince.

   

Tak said, “It is the need of the hour that the routeconnecting Kishtwar and Doda with the rest of world should be reopened withoutany delay, as it will only help in bringing the high-altitude twin districts onthe tourism map as locals as well as foreigners are enthralled by the scenicbeauty along the road.”

Reopening the road, the PDP leader said, will not only helpin mitigating the people’s issues, but will also help in promoting pilgrimagetourism as a number of religious places are located in Doda and Kishtwardistricts.

He appealed to the governor’s administration as well as thelocal district administration and concerned authorities to clear snow off theroad and reopen it for vehicular traffic.
