A residential house collapsed here in village Diggi Panchayat at Bhadarwah on Saturday.
Although, no one was hurt in the incident, however, family blames PMGSY authorities for the mishap.
“Our five family members were inside the house when it collapsed. Luckily, no one was hurt and everyone was safely evacuated from the debris by the villagers,” the affected family member said.
The family members alleged that the house collapsed due to the road construction work by PMGSY.
“Despite repeated written requests to the PMGSY authorities to built retaining wall right beneath the house, no one took any notice of our pleas. Due to their indifferent attitude, we have no roof on our heads today,” said Bittu Kumar, owner of the house.
When contacted Tehsildar Bhadarwah Zeeshan Tahir said that all the family members were safely evacuated from their house and their livestock was also shifted to his nearby brother’s house.
“A team led by Naib Tehsildar has been constituted to submit a detailed report of the damage,” Tehsildar added, assuring that the family will be provided all the help from the administration.
Villagers demanded compensation for the poor family as soon as possible.
