Traffic on Kishtwar-Doda highway remained suspended for over two hours Thursday due to shooting stones at Kuligarh.
The shooting stones were triggered by heavy rain during thepast several days.
“We suspended the movement of traffic at Kuligarh fromboth sides of the highway due to shooting stones,” deputy superintendent ofpolice, traffic, Zuhaib Hossain, told Greater Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a large number of passenger vehicles, besidesambulances and private transport, remained stranded on the highway due toshooting stones.
The deputy superintendent of police, traffic, on beingcontacted, said, “After remaining suspended for over two hours, theKishtwar-Doda highway was restored for traffic. The road was cleared on warfooting and all stranded vehicles were allowed to move towards theirdestinations.”
Pertinently, frequent landslides and shooting stones havebecome a routine on the Kishtwar-Doda highway, forcing authorities to suspend trafficon several occasions.
