Six injured in road accident near Gandoh in J&K’s Doda

Six persons were injured, four of them seriously, when a taxi they were travelling in met with an accident near Bathri on Thathri-Kilhotran road in Tehsil Kahara of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. 

Reports said the accident took place on Gandoh-Thathri road near Bathri village, 21 kilometres from Thathri town.

   

The taxi (bearing registration number JK06-5041) with six occupants was reportedly on its way to Thathri from Gandoh when it went out of the driver’s control while negotiating a curve and fell downhill into the maize fields, leaving all those on board injured.

“Police along with locals immediately reached at the spot and rescued all the passengers from the ill-fated vehicle and shifted them to Emergency Hospital Thathri,” said Raj Singh Gouria, ASP Bhaderwah.

The injured have been identified as Muzafar Hussain 28 S/O Sher Zaman R/O Darori Gandoh, Driver Talib Hussain 32 S/O Mohd Mussa R/O Tundlar Gandoh, Hajra Begum 55 W/O Lt Abdul Rasheed R/O Putan Gandoh, Zarnina Begum 30 W/O Shakeel Ahmed R/O Nagni, Shakeel Ahmed 35 S/O Mohd Yousaf R/O Nagni and Hashma Begum 60 W/O Mohd Akbar R/O Chamote Gandoh.

Later, Hajra Begum, Zarnina Begum, Shakeel Ahmed and Hashma Begum were shifted to GMC Doda for further treatment.
