The ReT and SSA teachers of Ramban continued their chain hunger for the third consecutive day today at Ramban. They are demanding benefits of 7th Pay Commission.

Led by Jammu Kashmir Rehber-e-Taleem Teachers Forum, senior vice-president, Tirith Singh Balwal, and senior member, Farooq Ahmed Rounyal, the teachers also staged a protest demonstration in front of the office of Chief Education Officer (CEO) office at district administrative complex, Ramban.

They raised slogans against the government for not fulfilling their demands including permanent solution of salary, benefits of 7th Pay Commission, delinking salary from SSA to state budget and release of pending salaries of teachers working under SSA.

District president said that most of the ReT teachers have withdrawn personal loan from banks and they are not able to deposit their installments in time due to non-release of their salaries and denial of benefits of 7th Pay Commission to SSA teachers.

He claimed that the genuine demands had already been discussed with Advisor to governor.

The protesting teachers warned that they will continue their agitation till their demands are not fulfilled.
