Surrandi villagers appeal education minister

Villagers of Surrandi Thatharka Gool of district Ramban Tuesday appealed education minister Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari to direct concerned officials to post more teachers at government middle school at village Surrandi.

A delegation of villagers told Greater Kashmir that the local middle school is having more than 250 students enrolled while just four teaches are posted there.

“Due to lack of adequate number of teachers, the teachers posted there are forced to club the two classes and impart them education. However, it adversely affects the quality education,” they said.

They added that it is one of the oldest schools in area and ninety nine percent people enroll their wards in this school. “It will be in the interest of students and public at large to post adequate number of teachers in the school,” they said.
