Having been elected unopposed to the upper house of the state legislature, PDP leader, Firdous Ahmad Tak, today expressed his desire to serve the people of Chenab Valley region during his tenure as Member of Legislative Council (MLC).
While talking to Greater Kashmir, Tak underlined his resolve to focus on employment of youth and development of Chenab region as also his native Kishtwar district.
"I will work for the development and prosperity of the region and will have special focus on employment for the youth", he said and added that his party (PDP) has a history of formulating people-friendly policies as also delivering on its promises of development.
"I am very keen to work with and for the youth in preparing them for the future as only youth can bring a revolution of peace, progress and prosperity in Kishtwar and in the state", Tak said.
The MLC assured people of the Chenab Valley about an accountable and clean administration. "I will not allow anyone to interrupt or create hurdles in the development of Chenab valley region", he said and called for empowerment of the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society. "Poorer and disadvantaged sections of the society need help and I will make sure to reach out to them", he said.
Tak also thanked the PDP leadership for having expressed trust in his credibility and potential as a leader. "I am grateful to the party for giving me a chance to serve the people. I assure them that I will always work for the upliftment and betterment of the region in particular and that of the state in general", he added.
