At a time when government schools in New Delhi have been setting an example of gadget and technology-based learning, a school in Marwah hamlet of this town is craving for attention of government, as 107 students are forced to study from two rooms with one exclusively used by the staff members.
As per locals andstudents, Government Girls High School Nawpachi was established in the year 1962.
“With every passing year,the strength of student grew up in the school, but authorities didn’t upgradethe infrastructure,” they said.
They said that at present,total strength of the students in the school is 107. According to them, oftotal 107 students, there are 10 students in 8th class, 25 in 9th and 38 in10th class.
“There are seven teachersfor the 107 students and only two rooms with one used by the staff to keep itsrecord,” a local said on condition of anonymity.
A student of the schoolsaid, “For the last two years, we’re being told that our school building wouldbe upgraded keeping in view the rising strength of the students, but till date,nothing of sort has been done.”
“As and when it rains, ourteachers declare holiday. This affects of studies adversely. Government shouldat least construct two more rooms for the students,” she said.
When contacted, directorschool education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta said, “I will personally look into thematter so that students do not suffer in future.”
